Huygens Hot & Cold pixel Remover

FAQ
The Huygens Software includes the Hot & Cold Pixel Remover. This tool uses a special algorithm to detect hot or cold pixels and replaces them with the median of their nearest neighbors. Learn more.
Hot and cold pixels can negatively affect the contrast range in an image. As a consequence, deconvolution, image stabilization, visualization, and data analysis can be affected. Hot pixels can also be a product of deconvolution. If a tiny object in your original image fits the PSF perfectly, deconvolution may result in a very bright spot in your image. This can disturb the contrast range and therefore the visualization of the image. We have come across this situation a few times. So, if the image seems black after deconvolution, try to remove hot pixels first and see if this brings back the original contrast of the image.
