Super-resolution, Quality Control, Quantification, Massive data and Huygens.

A workshop for imaging experts!

As a microscopist, you are aware of imaging pitfalls and the need to fix them in a correct manner with the purpose of staying true to the real objects under your microscope. To reach this ultimate goal, it is crucial to select the right image processing tools, and to use them in the correct order and manner.
During this workshop, we will discuss pitfalls in image acquisition and issues that are typically found when using certain imaging modalities. The brand-new Image Quality Control tool and other options will be demonstrated with hands-on sessions for which trial versions are made available. All with the purpose to obtain reliable and quantifiable data. Also, we'll present the different Huygens solutions tailored to the needs of individual users, research groups, and imaging facilities. Educational material and help with training's, whether with our without SVI's involvement, are also discussed.

The following topics will be covered:

  • Escape the Pyramid of Frustration - extreme low SNR
  • Automatically detect imaging artifacts with Huygens new Quality Control tool
  • Deconvolving and restoring super-resolution images
  • Distilling experimental PSFs for microscope quality control and perfect deconvolution
  • Designing restoration and analysis pipelines
  • Registration of image data (Stitching and Fusion)
  • Processing massive amounts of images (command line, Python, HRM)
  • Latest developments in handling large data
  • Advanced chromatic aberration correction
  • Correcting crosstalk and autofluorescence
  • Object segmentation and tracking (integration of machine learning info)
  • Thresholding and colocalization analysis (co-occurence, correlation, and object-based)
  • Training users, SVI workshops, and sharing educational material
A detailed program will be made available at a later stage.
